EMOTION OF THE DAY : MISGRET

 Welcoming  you to ,

The Emotions Dictionary

Emotion of the day : misgret

Today, we will learn about the feeling called misgret .

Origin : It is made with mistake+ regret

Meaning:The feeling that comes when you realise someone's lie was never meant to hurt you , but to heal you . It's regret mixed with mercy -- the pain of knowing the truth , softened by the kindness behind the lie.

To know more about this let's acknowledge a story.

One day according to an old story , a man with a serious illness was wheeled into a hospital room where another patient was resting on a bed next to the window. As the two became friends, the one next to the window would look out of it and then spend the next few hours delighting his bedridden companion with vivid descriptions of the world outside. Some days he would describe the beauty of the trees in the park across from the hospital and how the leaves dance in the wind. On other days, he would entertain his friend with step by step replace of the things people were doing as they walked by the hospital. However, as time went on , the bedridden man grew frustrated at his inability to observe the wonders his friend described. Eventually he grew to dislike him

and then to hate him intensely.

One night , during a particularly bad coughing fit ,  the patient next to the window stop breathing. Rather than pressing the button for help , the other man chose to do nothing. The next morning the patient who had given his friend so much happiness by recording the sights outside the window was pronounced dead and wheeled our of the hospital room. The other man quickly asked his bed be placed next to the window, a request that was compiled with by the attending nurse. But as he looked out the window, he

discovered something that made him shake : the window faced a stark brick wall . His former roomate had conjured up the incredible sights that he described in his imagination as a loving gesture to make the world of his friend a little bit better during a difficult time. He had acted out of selfless love.

This story truly express the feeling of misgret too.

You Can’t Control Your Thoughts… But You Can Control Your Life

Can We Really Control Our Thoughts? Or Is That a Myth We Have Been Sold? Every day, thousands of thoughts pass through our mind. Some build us. Some break us. And most… just exist. We like to believe that our thoughts define us. That if we could just control them, we would finally become our best version. Calm. Focused. Successful. Unbothered. Sounds perfect, right? But here is  the uncomfortable truth: If controlling thoughts was the key, everyone would already be winning . We have  been taught that “positive thinking” is everything. Think good → feel good → become good. But real life does not work like a motivational quote. Thoughts are unpredictable. They show up uninvited. You do not schedule them. You do not approve them. One moment you feel confident, the next moment doubt sneaks in like it owns the place. So what does that mean? It means thoughts were never fully in your control to begin with. Then Why Do We Feel Stuck? Because instead of acting, we start ar...

The Habbit I’m Most Grateful For

Journaling has changed my whole life; not just socially but mentally, physically, and spiritually too. It all started when I was in the 9th grade, a silly, underconfident, and insecure girl who was aware of the outer world. I used to watch self-growth and self-discovery video summaries of books on YouTube. After watching those videos, I wrote about it in my notebook, saying, “Universe, this is what I learnt today, thank you so much.” How journaling helped me to stay positive: I got so comfortable with that notebook as if she was my best friend. One day, there was a little incident in school and I was so emotionally broken. When I came back home, I was feeling low but I didn’t want to show that side of me to my parents. I felt like I was holding so much weight in my chest. It was the same feeling as when we want to cry but we force ourselves not to cry. So, I wrote about it in my diary. Afterwards, I really felt emotionally light by pouring my feelings into it. At that point in my life,...

Half In Love , Half In Syllabus

So Hey! Guys , I am Preeti . A girl who wants to be a entrepreneur , content creator , writer , public speaker , model , auditor , teacher and a god favourite child in this life. Today I want to share my perspective about teenage love and academics . This is a such kind of topic , we often don't discuss . But it is a very important part of our life which teaches a lot about life.  Why do we feel attracted to someone ? We feel attracted someone because we are living beings . Our brain , heart , and environment  all team up to make that person feel "special" to us . It's a good sign when you see that you are attracted to someone because this shows that you have emotions. We all are human being , we shouldn't feel insecure for liking someone. We're social and emotional beings . So , it's natural to feel drawn to people .  How should we deal with it ?  Sometimes liking someone feels like we are compromising  with our goals . We may end up procrastinating the t...
